The Peninsula Country Market is Celebrating their...

2nd Annual BC Day MusicFest Extravaganza !

The Society has operated the longest running open air market on Vancouver Island Since 1991 and supports a make, bake or grown by the vendor mandate in addition to advocating  a ‘Buy Local’ message to local Peninsula residents.

The Open Air market hosts different musicians each week, and this year special guest(s) 'Fine Spirits' will take to the main stage, with the opening act of local sensation ‘Sam Weber’. Fine Spirits delivers unique interpretations of some of the most famous R & B classics, and last year had the crowd dancing in the glorious sunshine that the market offers-up each week. Local musican and Stelly's student Sam Weber, is not only talented with his numerous guitars, but brings some upbeat originals too ! He was recently chosen for the popular Feed The Soul Vol. 2 CD sold all over the Saanich Peninsula to help the local Sidney Lions Food Bank.

There will be Salmon Burgers on the BBQ, roasted corn and vendor specials to celebrate BC Day. The first Monday of August is known as British Columbia Day, or B.C. Day, in the province of British Columbia. It’s a statutory holiday and gives residents in the province the chance to celebrate their achievements or relax with friends and family members.

What better way to celebrate BC Day  than at the local country market...with great ‘LIVE MUSIC’. Families gather every Saturday morning to purchase gifts, fresh bread, locally grown fruit and produce and just to engage in conversation with friends...It’s the Peninsula’s most unique community gathering place !
